ReplyDeleteThailand is the only country in Southeast Asia that has never been colonized. To achieve this, Thai rulers exploited the rivalry between the French Indochina and the British Empire. The rulers kept Thailand as a buffer between the two parts of Southeast Asia that had been colonized by these powers.
